The laborious process of tracing a circuit length will be obsolete with the GIS platform that we currently use able to trace via impedance based on a table of impedance values per cable type.

Currently SPEN have roughly 200 PQR that are able to record faults, but these units are only polled once a day or on an ad hoc basis. This project will enable fault information to be emailed to a user or iHost which can then deduce and impedance value.

As the new ENMAC is currently some time away its imperative that a frontend for new IFI projects and current IFI projects is developed to ease the transition into SPENs SCADA network.

Carrying on from the work that was completed in 'IFI 0709 Network Monitor using Web Systems' it is proposed to utilise the voltage and current values obtained from Sub.net and PQR during faults and feed them into GeoField, SPENs GIS mapping software.
