As part of the Intellirupter project SEPD have implemented on the Isle of Wight, the existing communications method currently does not provide sufficient bandwidth for the devices to communicate between each other and back to the central control hub. As a result the existing radio communications periodically falls over under certain network situations. This effectively limits the intellirupter circuit breakers functionality to less than is required to achieve the auto reconfiguration of the network.
The aim of this project is to trial a new and bespoke radio solution to increase the amount of data throughput. SEPD will then document the success of the product and provide analysis against the original radio signalling method and available competitive solutions.
