Low Carbon Generation
Estimated Expenditure:
£397,500.00
Introduction:
Academic work has proposed a method of detecting different types of generation from their patterns of output in time and Fourier space. If the process could be used by DNOs to detect generation and its type, a device could be developed to allow DNOs to accurately determine the nature and scale of generation on particular feeders, and resultantly maintain more accurate records.
Objectives:
This project will assess the feasibility of using these pattern recognition methods to identify small scale generation and its operation patterns. If this is viable, it will be used to inform the development of a device which can be located on individual feeders, on either a permanent or semi permanent basis, to accurately determine the nature and scale of distributed generation on that particular feeder.
