Introduction:
Lack of power flow data on teed networks means that management systems installed to date have had to allow additional margins for error when calculating the ratings and current loads of circuits. This means that the system is not being utilised as much as it might be. Accurate estimation of all power flow data will allow loading of networks to be increased and much more fully utilise the thermal and voltage limits of the network.
Objectives:
The project is looking at options to use state estimation on the Orkney 33kV network, to fill in gaps in power flow and voltage data from the present system
